Practical Task 1- Applying Todorov's Narrative Theory (Still Images)

Practical Task 1- Applying Todorov's Narrative Theory

Using Mise-en Scene and Todorov's Theory we had to create 6 still images telling a short story, we had to find a cast, with the aim and main objective being that people would be able to understand the story we were telling.

These are our six scenes/photos.

1.Equilibrium: Every seems normal with, this women standing at a post with no disruption.

2.Disruption of the Equilibrium: However in the second shot, a suspicious unknown character appears casing a disruption to the original, normal Equilibrium.

3. Recognition of the Disruption: The suspicious, strange character draws a knife from his pocket, this stage is also known as the Acknowledgement this is where recognition  of the event that disturbed the Equilibrium.

4.An attempt to repair the damage: In this scene you can the action of the kind being thrown, stage 4 of Todorov's Theory is in fact where their is an attempt to repair the damage of the disruption that has been made. With this image acting as to create and build more suspense and tension.

5.At stage, in the photo you can see a mid air shot of the knife being thrown, which Is heading towards the victim, in stage 5 of Todorov's Theory there is a new Equilibrium which in this case (Photo 6) is the character lying on the floor dead. The 5th and final stage of Todorov's Theory is that their is a new Equilibrium in place which however I different to the original this is because the events during this have taken place, implying that life isn't what it first was.
