Yr 12 Get off my Land Recreation Evaluation (Applying Todorov's Theory)

Yr 12 Get off my Land Recreation Evaluation

This the finished Film for our recreation of the short film "Get off my Land".

Before applying this to Todorov's Equilibrium, this task from a directors perspective really allowed me to understand and consider how best to adapt to certain situations and scenarios that may occur during film. This including the weather, but many how to get effective, good looking and proposing shots from a limited amount of equipment.

Apply Todorov's theory of narrative equilibrium to your finished film:

Equilibrium: The couple are walking through a filed on a summers day and everything is normal and as it should be.

Disruption: The farmer disrupts and stops them as he walks towards them.

Recognition: The couple stop wondering and start to speak to the farmer.

Repair: The they start arguing with the farmer over the field and this results in them being shot and killed

New Equilibrium: Everything is back to normal however the New Equilibrium is that the Boy and Girl are Dead.

Choose 3 elements of Mise-en-Scene and discuss how these create meaning in your film:
