Film Studies Post 5 : Production Diary 1 Pt2
Short Film Idea 2:
This is my Second Idea for my film studies coursework and when comparing this to my first initial idea, I much prefer this story as it feel it has more potential for me to develop the characters and overall Narrative. Furthermore what I'm keen to understand and improve upon my first short film from Yr12. As I'm keen to develop and create a simpler narrative which is slightly easier to follow so the audience can connect and feel apart of the film. That's why i feel a simply, more traditional Start - End Linear narrative would suit not only the short film, but also me as a Director.
With the film following a teengaer high school student coping with the extraordinary event of reliving the same day, as we gradually see him realize, come to terms and age throughout his life. This idea I've Brainstormed and thought would suit the story and narrative i'm trying to create. As seen i then developed these idea's further as i explored into where i can take this story and idea. The end idea i feel has a great initial structure, as i plan to develop and design storyboards and carry out extra research into locations and where i plan to shoot. What i tried to do and learn from the Previous Blog Post and incorporate into my ideas was the understanding of getting to know the scope and scale of my Film and what i have access and availability to. In the form of Locations, Props and cast. Making sure i'm not destined for failure even before i've started as don't try to create and be to ambitious.
In terms of the Pictures below they include Screenshotted Birds-eye views of possible Filming Locations, Costumes and Props. As i plan to further talk about and explain the Short Film in later posts.
