Final Setting
As for the Time of day and Season in which my Film is sett, it will mainly take place in the day time during Winter 2020, with this being the time I plan to start production of my film. With the winter season I feel as also acting as an intriguing and attractive backdrop within scenes. Meanwhile, in terms off the Physical setts of film, I plan to use a variety including Bedroom, school corridors and classrooms.
With these environments and settings including the right aspects and props needed to help develop the narrative and storyline. The Film genre of Drama, often uses realistic settings along with characters to. With the dramatic storyline of my Film suiting the genre well and in keeping with the grounded and naturalistic tone i want to achieve and create. As for more specific mise-en-scene elements of film, I plan to use realistic toned sound, with me often choosing to keep and incorporate the surrounding sounds of the setting in how projects. However it's important to consider if certain locations will have to much sound, that may disrupt the scene and dialogue e.g. round noise etc. With the Costume in my film, needing to suit both the time of day and settings of my film, such as Pajamas in the morning, suit during school scenes.
As for other elements such as Hair and make-up and Lighting, i plan to mainly use realistic and natural looking styles. To best depict the lives of my protagonists whilst not distracting spectators, instead allowing them to focus on the storyline and overall narrative. Like I discussed on Blog Post 7 (Audience research) its important the i use and director through facial expressions and movement to best portray my characters emotions and feelings. These elements are particularly important to show, with it being vitally important they best suit the scene. This is apparent for example when, Shocked facial expressions and minimal, still movement show when my character comes to realize he's stuck in a Time Loop.
These natural, essential and instinctive elements of mise-en-scene are relevant and can be common associated with the Drama Genre. With them acting as instead to assist the narrative and storyline instead. With the character development, journey, circumstances and storyline being more important.
The pictures below are examples of the planned Settings that will be involved in my Short Film.
